Membership in the AVB Community Band is open to musically qualified adult musicians over the age of 18 and is based on whether a vacancy exists in the section as well as your musical ability. Most of our music is of “moderate” difficulty.<\/p>\n
Rehearsals<\/strong><\/p>\n Membership in the band requires a significant time commitment. \u00a0There is normally 4 rehearsals before each concert. \u00a0Our expectation is that all band members attend all rehearsals. We realize that there can\/will be scheduling conflicts. \u00a0Missing one rehearsal before a concert is usually not a problem. \u00a0If you need to miss two rehearsals before a concert, we may ask you not to play for that particular concert. \u00a0This decision is made by the musical director. \u00a0Rehearsals are held every Monday night from late August through the December concert and from Late January through the May concert. \u00a0For each concert, there is also a Sunday evening dress rehearsal.<\/p>\n Concerts<\/strong><\/p>\n All concerts are normally held on the 3rd Monday evening of the month. \u00a0Scheduling conflicts at the theater venues may require us to alter this schedule. \u00a0The concerts start at 7:00 and usually run about 90 minutes.<\/p>\n In order to be considered for membership, please fill out the form below. \u00a0Once you submit the form, our musical director will review the information and contact you.
